Accommodation is at Paradys Camp, our atmospheric bush camp which has a maximum capacity of 10 people. In line with our low impact philosophy, the sleeping accommodation is in rustic* cabins, each with two single beds** and a balcony to enjoy the great views. The camp is unfenced to allow unrestricted movement for wildlife and the cabins are on stilts to protect against animal intrusion.
All meals are prepared by our cook and enjoyed in the traditional boma or around the open camp fire. It’ll be a varied and freshly prepared menu and we can cater for many different dietary requirements if we are told in advance. Please ask! We do have a small tuck shop and bar (the Jackal and Hide)*** selling beer, wine and other home comforts such as chocolate.
The camp has a raised viewing tower, which gives incredible 360º views across the Savannah and is the perfect place to enjoy a ‘sundowner’.
In what is a somewhat of a rarity in a bush camp we have both flush toilets and refreshing, cold showers. Even the bathrooms offer amazing views over the savannah, although screened from the camp for privacy, and there is nothing quite like having a shower whilst watching elephants on the veld below…
Water is provided from a borehole in the reserve and is tested regularly for drinking quality.
A member of staff will be on duty at all times when people are in the camp.
* Participants need to be clear that living standards are basic – however, in our view that’s all part of the fun of the project.
** Please note that alcohol consumption is strictly controlled for participant’s health and safety.*** Participants who are by themselves may be required to share a cabin if the camp is busy.
